GEGeek on Podnutz!

Postby Nick » Fri Jul 19, 2013 8:51 am

Want to give grats to our friend GEGeek who was just on Podnutz recently.

I just had the time to listen to the entire podcast yesterday and it was great! If you have time to listen to podcasts, fit this one into your schedule. (yeah, and @ 44:30 the d7 discussion begins! thanks a ton for the good press!)

Mike I was watching Geeksters ep. 76 last night and you got a good strong mention on that show as well. Check it: http://geeksters.tv/geeksters-ep-76/

Wow thanks. I'll be sure to check it out today. Finding out about all these internet shows I never heard of before. I may have to widen my circles a bit. I heard of Podnutz, but not the others.
I heard of another show yesterday called MikeTech. Do you listen to that one as well? Any others on your list I should be tuning into daily?

I listen to a few of the TWiT shows. Tech News Today, Security Now, & All About Android mostly, FLOSS Weekly every so often.

I've watched Hak5 since way before they joined Revision 3.

I listen to other just for entertainment. Happy to share if anyone wants.

Mike, I've seen Mike Tech Show but honestly I don't care for it. I especially despise the part where he wants you to listen to some godaweful song at least once in each episode. I realize I do the same in the opening few seconds of my Youtube videos, but A. I'd like to think I have better taste in music ;) and B. I don't play the whole damn song.

I guess really I'm just sore. It has been pointed out to me a few of times that his listeners have asked about d7 and he only briefly mentioned it once, by brief I mean he acknowledged its existence while reading a listener's email, and then blew it off within about 2 seconds flat. To be fair to him, I can fully respect only TALKING about what you actually KNOW about -- and if he doesn't know about d7 then I'm GLAD he doesn't talk about it. My issue is that I've emailed him a few times about advertising on his show, and to offer him a copy of d7 as well so he CAN get to know it -- but he would never respond to me. Even for paid advertising??? As if he specifically doesn't want to be associated with me or something.

--- other shows ---

never saw a single episode but keep meaning to watch Tekzilla I think it is, on Revision 3. Just because d7 made "Veronica's top tech tips" last year where they did like a nice 30 second bit (almost a commercial) on it, and then again it made "Veronica's top tech tips of 2012" blurb on Christmas eve last year. Both times my website hits (and sales) skyrocketed... so I know other ppl are watching this show at least, it must be good?

oh, almost forgot. Mike, if you want to be on the Geeksters I know during the podcast I think Martin mentioned having you on sometime. I can get the ball rolling on that probably, if you want, since I talk to Martin on occasion.

I listened to the show yesterday. They said my site reminds them of the guy from the movie "A Beautiful Mind" LOL hmmm. I guess there's a compliment in there somewhere.
I guess, sure why not. Still haven't made a dime from my site, never intended to. But who knows. Maybe if I follow up on these requests I may get an advertiser or two. Hey,
if I can get enough money just to cover the site for the year I would be happy.
Having your own site really is practical, both professionally and personally. I use it for personal backups, the guys on my job, since we are spread out so far apart, use it to ftp
CDs to each other. I created an ftp account for them. I upload software to a private page for friends, when needed, etc, etc. I'm sure you know what I am talking about.
Well anyway, if you recommend these guys then sure. Steve over at Podnutz was a real nice guy. He went easy on me since it was my first time.
Thanks
Mike
